Nyon’s Ice Rink and La Cabane Reopen for the Winter Season
Nyon’s ice rink at Rive reopens on Saturday 24 October at 11:00, launching a season that runs until Sunday 28 February 2027. Entry to the ice is free, and this year a new adapted skating platform will make it possible for wheelchair users to enjoy the rink while remaining in their chairs.
The 525 m² rink is open to children and adults during the season, including school holidays. Visitors can skate or play ice hockey during the time slots set aside for each activity. Skate hire is available on site for CHF 3 for children and CHF 5 for adults.

So, ready to hit the ice? Here's what you need to know.
Skating and hockey times
During school term, the rink is open for public skating:
Wednesday, 14:00–17:30
Friday, 16:30–18:30
Saturday, 13:15–18:30
Sunday, 12:00–18:15
Public hockey sessions take place on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 13:30 and Sundays from 18:30 to 19:30. Timetables change during school holidays, so check the rink website before visiting.
Seasonal events on the ice
A programme of events will run throughout the season. The opening celebrations continue on Wednesday 28 October at 12:30, followed by a Halloween evening on Saturday 31 October.
The Children’s Christmas event takes place on Saturday 19 December from 18:00, with a Silent Party planned for Saturday 30 January from 19:00. An artistic skating gala is scheduled for Saturday 27 February, followed by a remote-control car race on the final day of the season, Sunday 28 February.
The full programme is available at patinoire-nyon.ch.
Introduction sessions for children and teenagers
HC Nyon is offering Sunday morning introductory sessions in ice hockey and figure skating for children and young people aged 5 to 17. The sessions are suitable for beginners and those with an intermediate level. Games and exercises help participants build their skating skills and gain confidence on the ice.
Details and registration are available at hcnyon.ch.
A new way for wheelchair users to access the ice
A new adapted skating platform will be available free of charge this season, thanks to the Ville de Nyon and the Fondation Cerebral. The platform allows wheelchair users to go onto the ice while staying in their wheelchair.
La Cabane returns beside the rink
Next to the ice, La Cabane offers a heated place to take a break, with fondue and other specialities on the menu. The seasonal venue is run by Agathe and Olivier de Cocatrix, who also operate the summer watersports base, Le Ponton.
The rink and La Cabane can also be booked together for private events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, including team outings, work gatherings and celebrations with friends or family. Find details and booking information at patinoire-nyon.ch.
