Living in Nyon is looking for an organised community champion

Do you love a good list, a tidy inbox and the quiet satisfaction of getting a group of busy people moving in the same direction? Living in Nyon could use your help.

Living in Nyon is a community association run by a close-knit team of three. As a small team, we run Living in Nyon as a community platform: sharing local news and stories, helping people discover what’s happening across the region, and creating opportunities for people to connect. Now we’re looking for a volunteer Association Coordinator to help keep all those good things on track.

A little order behind the scenes

You’d be the friendly organiser who helps our team stay connected and keeps projects moving. That might mean checking our shared inbox, following up with sponsors and partners, helping committee members agree on priorities, and making sure everyone knows what they’re responsible for.

You’d also help organise committee meetings, prepare agendas, track follow-up tasks and keep our monthly newsletter on schedule. There’s a social media element too: promoting the newsletter and creating simple graphics for posts.

In short, you’ll help turn a collection of ideas, contributors and deadlines into a smooth-running team. And yes, you may need to give the committee a gentle nudge now and then.

The practical details

The role takes around four hours a week on average. There are no set working hours, and you can work from wherever suits you. The main thing is keeping in touch with the team and meeting agreed deadlines.

You’ll need a functional level of English and French to communicate with contributors and local contacts. Perfect fluency isn’t expected. Familiarity with Gmail and basic digital tools is useful; experience with social media or Canva is a bonus. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn count for plenty!

We’re looking for someone organised, proactive and comfortable working independently. Someone who can bring a bit of structure without taking the fun out of things. There’s plenty of flexibility, too: you choose when and where to do the work.

Get closer to life in Nyon

This is a voluntary, unpaid role, and it’s a chance to become part of the local scene in a very real way. As a member of the Living in Nyon team, you’ll make connections with people, organisations and businesses across the region, and get a closer view of the events, ideas and initiatives shaping local life.

We’re regularly invited to local events and gatherings, and you’ll be part of those opportunities too. You’ll meet people across Nyon and La Côte, discover more of what’s happening in the region and build connections as part of the Living in Nyon team.

You’ll also gain practical experience in association coordination, project management, editorial planning, communications and social media. Skills you can use in your work, studies or future projects.

Curious about the people behind Living in Nyon and how it started? Get to know our team, find out what we're working on and read the story behind Living in Nyon here. We’d love to welcome someone new into the mix.

Interested?

Send us a short email introducing yourself and telling us why you’d enjoy being part of the Living in Nyon team. We’d love to hear from you.
