A Colourful Tribute to Women’s Football

If you’ve walked through Nyon’s Parc du Bourg-de-Rive lately, you’ve likely spotted the stunning floral mosaic at the heart of the park, a much-loved summer tradition now in its 67th year.

Each year, the Ville de Nyon’s Environment Department creates a large-scale mosaic made from thousands of plants grown in local greenhouses. The theme? Always something that reflects our times. In 2025, it’s all about football and making space for everyone on the pitch.

Celebrating the Women's Euro 2025

This year’s mosaic pays tribute to the UEFA Women’s Euro, hosted in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July. The design is part of Nyon’s larger initiative, “2025, toutes au foot!”, which supports the visibility, participation, and long-term development of women’s football in the region.

Six varieties of colourful plants and textured materials make up this year's striking arrangement designed not just to impress, but to start conversations. At its core, the mosaic is a visual statement of inclusion, play, and possibility.

Catch the tournament live from the lakeside Fan Zone

Nyon invites residents and visitors alike to experience the full energy of the tournament at its dedicated Fan Zone, located under the Rive tent by the lake. All matches will be broadcast live on a giant screen, with a bar and casual setting for fans of all ages to gather, cheer, and connect. Running through 27 July, the Fan Zone is free to enter and open to everyone.

Football for all

Alongside match viewings, the Ville de Nyon is hosting over 100 free activities and discovery events up until September, encouraging women and girls to explore different forms of football. From walking football to freestyle sessions, football on sand, and even multi-generational games.

Later this autumn, a special careers day will also spotlight the many professional opportunities around football, on the field and behind the scenes, to challenge stereotypes and open new paths.

More than a tournament, it’s a movement

With deep ties to UEFA and a strong community spirit, Nyon is seizing this moment to create lasting change for women in sport. The goal isn’t just to celebrate the Euro, it’s to build momentum that continues well beyond it.
