The Grande Scène (main stage) at Paléo is bigger this year! The stage is now built and ready to welcome the artists and bands who will perform at the festival which begins tomorrow, the 23rd July. Check out the view the performers get from the front of the stage in the photo below (without the crowds!) Note - there are still tickets available every day on the Paléo website from 09:00.
This new stage has been seven months in development and comes with some interesting statistics.
To run the stage it takes:
1 venue manager
3 stage managers
I head of planning
1 MC (Master of Ceremonies)
48 stagehands
8 truck crew
Plus, the capacity to welcome 4 articulated lorries behind the scene and on site.
The reason for the increased capacity is not only to improve on the technical quality for the musicians and for the public, but also to help with the logistics. In 2004 there were around 4 articulated lorries at the festival. In 2018, 42 arrived, so a better turning circle and facilities have been created for these big trucks.
The stage itself is 58 metres long, 22 metres high and 23 metres in depth with giant screens of 8.4 m X 8.4m.
