Looking for something active to do this weekend? Nyon’s Festival of Sports returns to Colovray on Sunday 23 August, giving children and adults the chance to try out a huge range of sports for free.
Running from 10:00 to 16:00 across the Centre Sportif and Piscine de Colovray, the annual event brings together around 50 local sports associations, with introductions, demonstrations and activities taking place throughout the day.
The programme covers everything from yoga, climbing and basketball challenges to urban sports, while activities at the swimming pool include scuba diving, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing and water polo.
It’s also a useful opportunity if you or your children have been thinking about joining a local sports club in an interactive way. Visitors can meet the people running Nyon’s clubs, find out what they offer and try different activities before deciding what might suit them. There will also be a special rally with more than 30 challenges to complete around the site. articipants who complete at least one challenge in each rally zone can enter the prize draw, which takes place at 15:30. And for the day, entry to the Piscine de Colovray is free, giving everyone the chance to take part in the aquatic activities too.
