Meet Marco the Marmot. Switzerland’s Cutest Little Explorer Visits Nyon.

Behind Switzerland’s newest (and furriest) ambassador is Clint Bauld, an Australian entrepreneur, creator, and marmot enthusiast who found a new home in Switzerland.

"After years as a tour guide and a traveller and with young children to inspire, I wanted to spark their curiousity for the world around them. Travel didn’t always excite them at first, but I wondered if a playful guide could change that.

That thought became the seed of an idea: what if a small, overlooked alpine animal, the marmot, could become a character to lead adventures? What started as a way to share discovery with my kids grew into a brand rooted in the Swiss Alps, but designed to inspire exploration anywhere in the world."

Who Is Marco?

Marco is a curious marmot from the mountains near Zermatt with a big heart and an even bigger sense of adventure. Marco isn’t your ordinary marmot. One day, he decided to leave his alpine burrow to explore Switzerland’s best spots for families and kids. Going from castles and museums to beaches and chocolate shops.

Why? Because Marco believes adventures are even better when shared. His mission is to inspire families, children and parents alike, to discover the magic and treasures of Switzerland together. One city (and chocolate bite) at a time.

Marco’s Adventures in Nyon

A few months ago, Marco set off from the Alps with a BIG dream: to see the most beautiful places in Switzerland. Like Tintin, he couldn’t resist a grand adventure and that brought him right here to Nyon! He explored Château de Nyon, the plage, the Roman columns, the Roman Museum, and the Lake Museum. Everywhere he went, he thought Wow, families and kids would love this!

That’s when Marco had a brilliant idea: he would make children’s travel and exploring books that are fun, educational, interactive, life-like and of course cute (like him, after all, everyone loves marmots!).

Three Books for Each City

Marco didn’t stop at just one book. He wanted something for every kind of young explorer and so, he created three books per city, each available in English and French:

Story Book (red) A beautifully illustrated tale of Marco’s adventures.

Activity Book (orange) Packed with puzzles, mazes, games, and colouring fun.

Colouring Book (green) Featuring marmots, squirrels, castles, and Swiss street scenes. No fairies, just real places and characters to colour in!

From Nyon to All of Switzerland

After his time in Nyon, Marco packed up his little marmot bag and continued his travels. Since then, he’s published books on Morges, Geneva, and Zurich, with Lausanne next on his list!
