It’s that time of year again when the Plaine de l’Asse turns into one of Switzerland’s most-loved music and culture hotspots. The 48th Paléo Festival Nyon opens its gates tomorrow, Tuesday 22 July, and will run until Sunday 27 July.

Opening night will be one to remember with French electro duo Justice, US hip-hop star Macklemore, and the politically charged grunge of Skunk Anansie. And that’s just day one. The rest of the week promises a rich mix of genres and eras: from rock icons Queens of the Stone Age and a revitalised Sex Pistols (with Frank Carter) to electro headliner David Guetta, plus pop favourites Clara Luciani and Zaho de Sagazan.
Why We Love Paléo at LIN
Living In Nyon has covered Paléo for years, and it’s honestly one of our favourite local events. It’s not just the big names that make this festival so special. It’s the whole vibe! The mix of music, food, community spirit, and creative spaces like La Ruche (full programme) and Village du Monde give Paléo a soul you don't find at every festival.

Beyond the Main Stages
Village du Monde takes festivalgoers to Maghreb this year, an area of North Africa that includes countries Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. Vibrant desert-themed décor, street food, and two stages (Dôme & Dunes) packed with contemporary and traditional performances.
La Ruche is all about the many forms of language: spoken, signed, and mimed. Expect poetry, body language, and even ordering drinks in sign language.
HES-SO’s Ether Installation is a poetic and immersive exploration of lightness and fragility, designed by creative students.
Don’t Miss
Greenpeace Switzerland will offer a virtual dive aboard its legendary Arctic Sunrise ship.
The Zaila Association, a Moroccan non-profit, will showcase Sahara culture and conservation.
Drone Show Upgrade: After debuting last year, the drone show is back on Sunday 27 July just after 11 pm, this time with 1,200 drones (up from 900 in 2024) lighting up the sky in a synchronised spectacle you won’t forget.
Foodies, This Is for You
With 130 food stalls across eight themed culinary zones, you can taste everything from spicy Asian street eats to traditional Alpine dishes. Look out for Paléo’s Top 10, Sustainably Certified and New This Year food labels when planning your culinary journey.
