Nyon’s library is getting ready for a big move and the readers of Nyon are invited to be part of it. The Adult and Young People’s library sites, currently split between Maison Richard and Chemin de Crève-Cœur, will soon come together under one roof at Avenue Reverdil 4, in the former Moser School building.
To prepare for the transition, both library sites will close from 14 December 2025, with a brand-new space opening to the public in March 2026. And until then? Borrowing is unlimited.

Borrow as Much as You Like (Really!) 1 to 13 December 2025
In the run-up to the move, the Library of Nyon is offering something unusually fun for book lovers: unlimited borrowing. From 1–13 December, you can take home as many books, films and documents as you want, with no cap. Everything simply needs to be returned when the new library opens in March.
It’s a playful, community-minded way of letting residents “help with the move” by emptying the shelves!
A New Cultural Hub for Nyon
The move to Avenue Reverdil 4 isn’t just about relocating. It’s about reimagining what a public library can offer. The new location is more central, more accessible and significantly larger with 840 m² of space for reading, learning, exploring and gathering. It will allow for more services, more programming and longer opening hours.
And there’s more: the Ludothèque Nyon Région will also join the building in 2026.
The toy library will be installed on the lower ground floor.
The new library will occupy the upper floor.
A shared interior staircase will connect the two.
For families and young readers, this is wonderful news. Books and games all in one place.
Key Dates
Here’s what to mark in your calendar:

A Library at the Heart of Community Life

A New Beginning
After more than 50 years at Maison Richard, and many years of operating on two separate sites, the Library of Nyon is turning an exciting page. This move represents more than a change of address, it’s a step toward a more open, welcoming, and connected cultural space for everyone in Nyon.
We’ll share more updates as the reopening approaches. For now, grab your tote bags and get borrowing!
