Jardins en Fête in Coppet a success - Photos and report

Every year in May, "Les Jardins en Fête" organise a stunning display of nature, flowers and plants at the Château de Coppet. English Botanical photographer Catherine Lewis, went to the fête and photographed some of the displays. She has kindly sent some of these photos and a short report about the day to Living in Nyon.

Catherine says: "The show was billed as "a show for all amateurs and lovers of nature.  There were a wide collection of exhibitors from sculptures, paintings,  old fashioned vegetables (black carrots, victorian potatos). Garden designers were present such as HMGarden design, there was garden furniture on show, and some wonderful fruit and vegetable sculptures created by Jacquelin Piaget.

Refreshments were served in the walled garden opposite the Chateau and visitors were able to take their afternoon tea under the vines.  There was a wonderfully eclectic feel to the whole day - champagne, afternoon tea, Rosti, saucisson, local apple juice and local wine".

Catherine Lewis has worked as a botanical photographer in the UK for the last six years handling projects for the Royal Horticultural Society and producing images for the stock photo library flowerphotos. com . She can be contacted at catherine_c_lewis@yahoo.com for photography projects.
